Today we launched MetaGravity's HyperScale Engine. This marks a significant step forward in how we imagine concurrent digital realities, and empowers developers to delve into the realms of supermassive multiplayer experiences that were once considered beyond reach.
Solving the limitations of multiplayer architecture
At MetaGravity, we're tackling the limitations that are inherent in multiplayer game architecture. The HyperScale Engine addresses the struggles faced in existing multiplayer environments, which often cap out at a mere 100 concurrent players, or stumble when confronted with scalability barriers below 1000 concurrent players. We see The HyperScale Engine as a solution to the surging demand for larger scale multiplayer games and real-time experiences. These are, after all, necessary as we build the next internet in all its complexity, persistence and synchrony.
Unveiled today at the Games Developer Conference in San Francisco, The HyperScale Engine was showcased alongside esteemed partners such as Star Atlas, Wilderworld, and Earth2. The demos revealed thousands of players seamlessly engaging in massive multiplayer experiences with uncompromising visual fidelity in single shard worlds. The physics-driven gameplay and intricate interactions illustrated the immersive complexity now possible.
Unlimited simulation scale at a lower cost
Cloud and game engine agnostic, The HyperScale Engine seamlessly integrates with existing game technologies. Developers can now port existing games built in both Unreal and Unity onto MetaGravity’s infrastructure and deliver substantial increases in simulation scale, coupled with efficiencies in cloud compute costs.
At MetaGravity we recognise that distributed simulation scale for multiplayer experiences has posed a persistent challenge for over a decade. Without scalability, our next internet will never exist. But this marks a turning point: if you’re a creator, a visionary, you now have the freedom to build the worlds you always envisioned, liberated from technical and financial constraints.
Build never before seen worlds of supermassive scale with MetaGravity HyperScale Engine. Real games, real physics, real scale.
